Born as a Quirite, Renius entered the military at a young age. He served with distinction and was given an honorary post as tribune which elevated him into the ranks of the Equestrian Order.
Through his life he served on the German frontier in Gaul, Aegyptus, Antioch in Syria, Britannia, and at last again in Gaul where he gave his life protecting the empire he cared so deeply for.
The legacy he leaves behind are two children (along with a few bastards) and a reputation that some praise while others would rather forget.
For whatever he was worth, Renius Metellus had a part to play in the affairs of the empire, for better or worse. |
