F.A.Q
F.A.Q General Are you looking for staff members at the moment? No sorry, we have plenty at the moment. When we are looking for staff the players on the board will be notified and people will be able to show their interest then. Does it cost money to have Aeterna Roma hosted? It does, all costs are paid by the Administrator to keep the site up and running. Am I able to contribute funds to support the site? You would be welcome to, please PM Lucilla for more details about how you can contribute. All funds would go to supporting the site. Go here to donate through paypal. Is Aeterna Roma free to play? It certainly is! No hidden costs at all. Why all the Latin use? And why is "City of Rome" in plural? We decided to use Latin to make the game feel more authentic and realistic. The city of Rome is split into the regions that were created by Augustus; the provinces are not listed singularly but instead in geographical groupings, but with original names. For the most part, we've named boards according to our own personal research; some areas have been added or modified for the purposes of plotting. "The City of Rome" can translate in two ways. The older version is the one we use: Urbs Romae. "Romae" itself is the Latin noun Roma in three different noun cases, depending on the context. Here it is in Dative singular, which signifies the word "urbs" (city) as the city of Rome. It has become more common in recent decades to use the spelling Urbs Roma; both are correct. Character Related How many characters can I have? You can have as many characters as you can handle on this site. Although it is recommended that you do not have more than five. It is not considered good form to create a character, go inactive with it and then create another. How many canon/adoptable characters can I have? As many as you can handle. You must also remember to keep them active and not powerplay with the kind of things they would know. If you do become inactive then they will be removed and be placed up for adoption once more. How many adoptables can I create? As many as you like, although they should connect to your character in some way. Also remember that the face claim for it is there as an estimate guide to what the character looks like. How long does it take for a character to be accepted into the game? As long as it takes for your application to be complete. During the review the staff may have questions or suggest that things be corrected, once they are amended usually you will be admitted into the game. Once the character has been accepted into the game there will usually be a post from a staff member saying it has been accepted, the thread locked and then the thread will be moved to the appropiate board. There is also where you are able to read the other applications that have been completed beforehand. How do I delete a character/account from the site? Please PM Lucilla (Gothic) with a request to have that particular account removed from the site. Your bio will be archived. If the character is a canon or an adoptable, it will become available once more. More will be added as they come in ![]() |
